In the last three blogs, we looked at the first nine ways to grow your audience without paying for Facebook ads. Today, we're looking at number 10, number 11, and number 12, because I know exactly what it's like to be in those early stages of business, or even in the later stages of business where you're really tight on cashflow and you just need to get new people in, but you don't want to spend any extra money.

You're desperately trying to do all of the things that the internet tells you to do like following and unfollowing people, which by the way, is a little bit of a waste of time. So here are three ways that will actually move the needle.
10. Surprise and delight your existing customers or your existing audience
Now, this sounds a little bit counterintuitive because it's not really growing your audience with new people, but so often we forget or get so caught up in trying to get new people into the business that we forget to nurture the ones who we already have, the ones who have that potential to become raving fans and who might then go out and tell their friends about us. So surprise and delight these people. Give them a reason to become your raving fans. Run a bonus live Q&A session for them. Create a new freebie and send it out to them. Ask them to share with their friends. And I know I've mentioned this in the last two episodes as well, but by asking somebody to share it with their friends, we're prompting them to do something that they're probably open to doing and they just hadn't thought about doing. So make these people your raving fans. However, you can surprise them and delight them, do that.
Some amazing ways that I've seen is sending out handwritten cards and letters. People love getting stuff in the mail that isn't a bill. They love getting a handwritten card or a handwritten letter, so send them one. Anything free, bonus over and above what they've paid for, do that.
11. DM five of your most engaged followers and start a conversation with them
It might not directly grow your audience right this minute, but it's part of your longer-term game. You're going to learn by talking to these people. You're going to learn how you can better serve your audience and that's going to help you to create better content in the future, which means you're going to attract more of the right people into your business. You can even ask these people, if they're your engaged followers, ask them, “Hey, do you know anyone else who might need the stuff that I'm sharing?” Remember, we want to get into the habit of asking people, asking people to tell their audience and tell their friends, tell whoever in their network might need what we deliver, asking them to tell those people.
12. Pitch to do an Instagram Live interview
Preferably with somebody who has an audience of people who are similar to the people you're trying to reach. So probably not somebody who's a direct competitor, but somebody who you know the people you're trying to reach are following. What you can then do is you interview them on Instagram Live. They need to just show up in your Instagram Live and they can request to be in the Live. When they join it, it's going to notify not just your followers, but it's going to notify their followers as well. When their followers jump on there and they watch that interview, that's going to make them want to follow you or want to find out more about you, and that's going to get you in front of more of those right people.
So there you have it, that has now been at 12 ways to grow your audience without paying for Facebook ads.
