There are a heck of a lot of Instagram marketing apps and tools out there – including a ton of dodgy Instagram automation apps. Lucky for you, I’ve tried a LOT of different apps. Here are 6 of my favourite apps to automate your Instagram marketing and streamline your Instagram content creation.

There are a heck of a lot of Instagram marketing tools and apps out there. And, for most people, this is overwhelming.

Not me. I often joke about how I have shiny app syndrome – find me a cool new marketing app and I’ll waste half a day trying it out. I know, it’s not super productive, but it means that I have tried a LOT of Instagram marketing apps and I know which ones are great, and which ones not so much.

 

 

Just a word of warning – I don’t recommend signing up for any apps you don’t need. Because the costs really do add up. That said, you shouldn’t choose your marketing apps simply because they’re the cheapest out there. Sometimes you do have to spend a little bit to save you time and heartache – I added it up recently and found out that I spend around $1,000 USD a month on different marketing apps. That stung a bit!

Best Instagram marketing app #1: Planoly

I love Planoly. It’s an Instagram scheduling tool that allows you to plan your Instagram feed out in advance by dragging and dropping your images. As it’s an Instagram API partner, Planoly also allows you to auto-post to Instagram – that is, it’ll automatically post to Instagram for you, without you having to open up the app and do it manually.

I've tried what feels like hundreds of Instagram scheduling tools, and this one has hands-down been my favourite.

You can try Planoly for free, but even their paid plans are pretty reasonably priced.

Best Instagram marketing app #2: Postie

Postie is great for making your Instagram content go a little further by picking your best-performing posts and curating them into an email newsletter for you to send to your subscribers. It’s perfect for those of you who never know what to send to your email list, because chances are only a small percentage of your email list are actually seeing your post on Instagram, thanks to how the algorithm works.

Best Instagram marketing app #3: Unfold

If you’ve noticed some beautiful Instagram Stories templates in your feed lately, there’s a good chance they were created using Unfold. It's an iPhone app that makes creating brand-aligned Instagram Stories dead simple.

Best Instagram marketing app #4: Zapier

Zapier is the middle-man that integrates your various apps, and that includes your social media accounts. You can use Zapier to automatically share your Instagram posts to Pinterest, to Linkedin or to Twitter.

Zapier is such a handy tool – not just for Instagram automation. It’s probably one of my most-used apps, so I recommend having a play with it if you haven’t yet.

Best Instagram marketing app #5: Repurpose.io

I only recently came across this one at Podfest in Orlando a few weeks ago, but it’s a game-changer for podcasters on Instagram. It automatically generates animated videos for your podcast episodes, and you can create square videos with podcast snippets for your Instagram feed – or vertical ones for your Instagram story.

I see a lot of business owners putting time and effort into creating their Instagram content, but then it stops there.
