“My audience isn’t big enough to launch anything yet” – said pretty much everyone who did my survey last year. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – launching is HOW you grow your audience. But, you’re probably wondering: How does launching grow your audience? Read on as I’m sharing 5 ways to grow your audience by launching.

5 Ways To Grow Your Audience By Launching
One of the biggest takeaways from the survey I did of my audience recently was that SO many of you are worried your audience isn’t big enough to launch anything yet.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – launching is HOW you grow your audience.
Back in 2017, nobody really knew who I was – I had a few hundred Instagram followers and maybe 300 email subscribers. Then I launched my first online course – a Facebook Ads course – and more than doubled my following, more than doubled my email list and had a random girl come up to me at an event to ask if I was that Facebook Ads chick she’d seen online.
I’ve seen similar audience growth from subsequent launches too. But, you’re wondering – if I have a small audience, then HOW does launching grow it?
This is how you grow your audience by launching…
-
Grow your audience by showing up consistently and regularly.
I know it might feel like you’re just talking to yourself sometimes, but it’s so important to pick your platform or platforms and consistently publish content to it in order to grow your audience.
Whether this platform is a blog, a podcast, Youtube – that doesn’t matter as much as the fact that you’re regularly showing up in one place in the lead up to your launch.
It might feel slow at the start, but that’s ok – stick with it and you’ll gather momentum.
Another thing that can help is live content – so, for example, doing a Facebook Live. Even if you only have a few people who show up live, all you need to do is ask them to tag a few friends who they think would benefit from seeing your live video and, voila! You’ve reached new people.
-
Give away lots of free value to grow your audience.
Almost everyone grapples with the worry that they’re giving away too much for free – but honestly, giving away lots of free content has been the game-changer for growing my audience.
It’s important that you don’t only show up when you have something to sell your audience. That’s why the 90 days leading up to your launch is important – it gives your audience time to get to know you, love you and trust you.
-
Focus on building your email list
Yes, I know you want more Instagram followers, but building your email list is WAY more important. And, as a side effect, you’ll find you get more Instagram followers anyway.
How do you focus on building your list? Create a super valuable piece of content – like an ebook, or a video series or a challenge, and ask people for their email addresses in return.
Ask your existing audience to share it with their friends, and if you have the budget for some Facebook Ads, run ads to the content to really ramp up your email list growth.
-
Run a launch event
I don’t mean an actual in-person event, I mean a webinar or a challenge or a live training.
Get your audience excited about it and they’ll share it with others. Promote it in Facebook Groups, run Facebook Ads – show up everywhere the week before the event and tell people about it.
Yes, it takes a lot of time and energy to do, but since it’s a live event, you can set aside a few days to give it your ALL, knowing it will help to grow your audience.
-
Engage, engage, engage!
Talk to your audience and use this time to figure out what they want – what their pain points are, what content they’re interested in, how you can tweak your product to make it even more irresistible for them.
Don’t just guess and assume that you know what they want because so often, what we think they want isn’t what they want at all.
